1543 Francisco de Enzinas El Nuevo Testamento Facsimile

The 1543 Francisco de Enzinas El Nuevo Testamento Facsimile was one of the first Spanish translations of the Bible to be printed in the common tongue in Spain. Francisco de Enzinas began his work in A.D. 1541 at the University in Wittenberg with the assistance of Philip Melanchthon, his fellow academic peer. After completion of his translation, Francisco de Enzinas traveled to Antwerp, Belguim, to have his work printed by Steven Mierdman, an act that would see de Enzinas arrested and his works mostly confiscated.

This translation would be an instrumental stepping stone towards the modern-day Spanish translations of the Bible, greatly influencing the Reina-Valera version particularly.
